Full Job Description
Are you a highly organized, proactive individual with a passion for making a difference in young people's lives? Leigh Academy Hugh Christie is seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to help us ensure every student benefits from a full and enriching education.
As our Attendance Officer, you'll play a vital role in improving student attendance, supporting families, and working closely with staff to ensure all students thrive. If you're someone who loves solving problems, building relationships, and seeing the impact of your work on young people's success, this could be the perfect role for you!
In this dynamic and rewarding position, you'll:
Monitor and improve attendance: Use your analytical skills to track attendance trends, identify issues, and develop effective strategies to improve punctuality and reduce absence rates.
Engage with families: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, offering support and guidance to overcome barriers to attendance.
Collaborate with staff: Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and senior leaders to implement attendance policies and ensure a consistent approach across the academy.
Ensure compliance: Keep accurate and up-to-date records, produce reports, and ensure attendance processes align with safeguarding and legal requirements.
Inspire positive change: Help students understand the value of regular attendance and its impact on their future success.
We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be empathetic and understanding, offering support to families while maintaining a focus on student success. You'll bring initiative and problem-solving abilities to overcome attendance challenges and have strong administrative skills to manage data and records accurately. Experience in education or a similar setting is preferred but not essential.
If you're excited about the opportunity to play a key role in supporting our students and promoting a culture of success, we'd love to hear from you!
This is a permanent opportunity, working 36.5 hours per week, term time + 1 week of inset and offers an actual salary of £20,072 - £22,128 per annum (£23,656 - £26,079 full-time equivalent), based on experience.
