Full Job Description

Attendance, Welfare and Enforcement Officer Full-Time, Term Time Only We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hard-working Attendance, Welfare and Enforcement Officer to join our Academy. The role will involve leading on school attendance, working with other admin staff and senior leaders to manage and improve attendance. Quarrydale Academy also employs a team of Pastoral Support Officers who work with our children and families. We take a positive, pro-active approach to improving attendance and the person in this role will help families find the positive motivation to improve attendance. Key responsibilities:

  • Involves working closely with parents, teachers, family & community teams, social care and other colleagues that support the welfare of children.
  • Working together, develop, implement and evaluate strategies designed to help families and pupils overcome non-attendance difficulties.
  • Carry out home visits where students have failed to attend.
  • Undertake monitoring and evaluation of the school attendance to promote improvements.
  • Follow up and monitor cases to ensure a positive outcome, taking a different course of action as appropriate.
  • Review half-termly attendance data with school to identify areas for improvement
  • Write reports and prepare evidence for legal action.
  • When appropriate, refer pupils and parents to other agencies involved in helping children and their families and attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • In addition, you will have:
  • experience of IT and knowledge of Bromcom software used in schools
  • confidence in using Microsoft Office software
  • the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • awareness of GDPR/ health and safety requirements in school
