Full Job Description

We are looking for a forward-thinking dynamic individual to lead, direct and motivate TRUST Delay Attributers and delay resolution co-ordinators. Managing a team of shift based 24-hour Train Delay Attributors based in Manchester Control in the capture of delay minutes to deliver consistent delay attribution in real time for the route, monitoring all trains operated, capturing reasons for delay in accordance with the business process manual and the relevant train performance schemes. The successful candidate will also manager a team of Delay Resolution Co-ordinators to assist in the level 2 resolution process with our train operators. Our DRC’s are spread across Manchester and Birmingham so some travel will be required to fulfil line manager responsibilities. We are looking for a data driven candidate with the ability to analyse and interrogate TRUST information for the purpose of performance improvement. Good working knowledge of the railway is a must however we will guide you through the Delay Attribution training processes including attendance of National Delay Attribution training course. The role will also provide opportunities to shadow and learn from the North West Route Performance Measurement Manager to develop a knowledge and understanding of the attribution process and impacts on the wider performance team and will provide various progression opportunities within the business.About the role (External) Every day will be different, but you can expect to be involved in the following activities: 1. Provide overall direction with regard to the application of the delay attribution guide, providing support and guidance to relevant managers across the route. 2. Apply consistent standards, consistently, throughout the route for all delay attribution and TRUST incident creations. 3. Lead the capture of train delays in line with KPI reporting. 4. Undertake briefing of staff on changes to the delay attribution process and guides. 5. Promote understanding of the delay attribution process with customers, contractors and other interested parties. 6. Provide technical support and advice to the Customer Service team in respect of TRUST / TRUST D.A. 7. Assist with the development of data capture contingency plans and monitor the introduction in the event of TRUST failure. 8. Assist with real time support to the route control during disruption. 9. Undertake competency assessments identifying, recording and implementing any development needs.

· A1 qualified · Experience of managing people · Knowledge of Network Rail people management policies and procedures · Detailed understanding of business process manual and commercial environment · Investigation skills · Negotiation skills · Crisis management skills · Influencing skills We would also like but it isn't crucial to have/to be: · Relevant experience of Railway industry · Understanding of negotiating machinery · Knowledge of budgets, Safe behaviour is a requirement of working for Network Rail. · Salary: Band 4B, starting at £35,582 and raising to £40,029.
