Full Job Description

Word processing and audio typing of letters, reports and e-mails as required in line with procedures and agreed time scales; composition of letters. Organise filing, investigations, tracking sheets etc in a complex and changing environment. Prioritise and organise own workload following instruction from the senior secretary and initiating action where necessary, ensuring an efficient and effective filing system is maintained within the department. Obtaining patient health records from different locations across the hospital, including the Medical Records Library, for all areas. Collating of patient results with health records and ensure that the results of tests and investigations for these patients are marked off on the investigation tracking sheet and processed as directed by the Senior Medical Secretary. Using the in-house patient data tracking system ensure that all patient case notes passing through the office are booked in and out appropriately to the correct location. Check patient
follow up requests have been made, bringing to the attention of the senior secretary any that have been missed. Filing of results / correspondence in chronological order in patient health records. Ensure that health records are assembled following written guidelines and that the documentation contained therein is correct, so that high quality standards are maintained before release from the department.
