Full Job Description

We are looking for a new Head of Hearing and Balance to join us on a 6 month FTC (till DEC 25) based at King Edward Hospital in Windsor.

Berkshire Healthcare provides Audiology services across Slough, Maidenhead, Bracknell and Windsor and we are passionate about providing outstanding and joined up care for our service users and their families. As a service we are always looking at ways to develop and improve and are looking for someone who is forward thinking to lead this.

You will need to have a proven track record of managing services and of developing staff and experience of leading at a both a strategic and operational level. You will need to be a clinical expert and you should have experience in both adult and paediatric diagnostic and rehabilitative care. You will be a strong communicator who is motivated and enthusiastic to bring about change.

The service operates 09:00 17:00 Monday to Friday and we are open to those looking for both full and part time work. Whilst your base will be King Edward you may be required to cover clinics in other sites and the role also leaves room for some home working., Responsible for the management and development of multi-disciplinary diagnostic and rehabilitative hearing and balance services within Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for paediatrics, adults and those with complex needs including those with learning difficulties

Management and clinical leadership of Hearing and Balance Services portfolio including employed staff including Healthcare Scientists, practitioners, therapists, trainees, technical and admin and clerical staff

Support the long-term planning and ongoing development of diagnostic and rehabilitation audiology services for the Trust

Provide advanced clinical, scientific and technical input to complex patients within a sub-specialist area of Audiological expertise (e.g., paediatric, adult rehabilitation, balance, and or diagnostic services).

To keep abreast of national and international developments in Audiological Science to ensure the department remains at the forefront of Audiology service provision and meets all KPI including 18-week RTT and 6-week DMO milestones.
