Audiologist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Audiologist to join our team at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust. We value innovation and are constantly on the lookout for new ideas as part of our commitment to a culture of continuous improvement.
The department treats adults only (18+) and covers the specialisms of audiological diagnosis and rehabilitation, vestibular diagnosis and rehabilitation and tinnitus management.
Opportunities for continous professional development exist within our department, both in terms of in house training and attending recognised professional courses. When suitable, he post holder will be given the oppertunity to observe and receive training in the specialisms of tinnitus rehabilitaion and/or vestibular diagnosis.
Additionally, as a department, we are also provided with two sponsored places to attend the yearly BAA conference.

- Attending and contributing to monthly audit meetings.

5. Making equalities mainstream, If successful, the candidate will be expected to start with ENT clinics and hearing aid work from the beginning of their contract. Over time, after the initial acclimatisation period, we will start to plan a bespoke training period in an area of a) clinical need, or b) personal interest. This training period may take some time, but once satisfying the relevant criteria, the candidate will can then move in to more specialist audiology clinics. As required, additional time may be allowed for clinical audit projects and various other training courses both internally and externally.
A general breakdown of what the day to day work may include is as follows:
+ Running AQP assessment and fitting clinics.
+ Conducting 3 yearly reassessment appointments.
+ Running hearing aid repair clinics.
+ Hearing aid fitting including real ear measurement.
+ Impression taking for ear moulds and swimplugs.
+ Providing support to general ENT and otology clinics
+ Speech audiometry and associated audiological counselling.
