Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic audiologist to join our friendly, dedicated team based at The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel. The post will involve working at The Royal London Hospital and Homerton Hospital. We have a comprehensive audio-vestibular service and hearing therapy service based at The Royal London Hospital.

You must be a good communicator, confident working autonomously and as an enthusiastic team-member. You must have either a BSc in Healthcare Science Audiology or MSc in Audiological Science, with clinical competency. You should be registered with the RCCP as an Audiologist or the HCPC as a Clinical Scientist (Audiology).

Our multi-professional audiology team is well-integrated, mutually supportive and keen to develop excellent services together. Audiology is managed by Bart's Health and we have sites across Tower Hamlets, City & Hackney, Newham, Waltham Forest and Redbridge.

We have around 100 members of staff which includes Clinical Scientists, Audiologists, Assistant Technical officers, Newborn Hearing Screeners and administrative staff.

We are a well-integrated, innovative and mutually supportive team, and provide an excellent service to a challenging population. We also provide accredited training and placements for students on Audiology BSc, MSc, ASCP and STP programmes.

· To provide diagnostic audiological testing of adults, to be responsible for the safe use and calibration of equipment and ensuring accurate records are maintained.

· To provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to adults including determining care plans for individual patients, and involving carers and families as appropriate.

· To take an active role in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service and contributing to the development of evidence based protocols.

Toplan and prioritise elements of own workload, within the framework of service delivery priorities as defined by the line manager, and supervise the work of trainees/students and volunteers as required
