The Internal Audit Team is part of the wider Internal Audit, Risk Management and Insurance Team at Calderdale Council, charged with ensuring that the local authority operates efficiently and effectively, meeting its statutory requirements on the use of its resources and delivering services that improve the lives of the people who live and work here.

As our new Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the full range of audit services across the Council to ensure appropriate risk management, governance and control systems are in place across the organisation aligned with our overarching organisational objectives.

You will ensure the delivery of quality internal audit assignments and advice internally and liaise with key external partners regarding audit and assurance matters, as directed by the Head of Internal Audit, in line with the Global Internal Audit Standards as they apply to the public sector.

Your expertise in providing leadership to the Internal Audit Team, fostering an environment of success and developing top talent, will be vital to ensuring the Internal Audit Plan is delivered as part of the wider assurance framework.

The ideal candidate would be an experienced internal audit professional, used to delivering reviews and their associated reports to time and quality willing to continue learning every day. They should be a team player who treats others with kindness and care whilst maintaining appropriate professional scepticism.

A CCAB or CIIA candidate able to fulfil the role of the Chief Audit Executive in line with CIPFA requirements in the Head of Internal Audit's absence is preferred., Disability Confident
