Full Job Description

In this mechanical / electrical role you will have the opportunity to join a highly skilled and dynamic Plant Launch OTA team and contribute to successful product launches throughout Solihull. The individual will be required to participate in problem solving and delivering root cause analysis to ensure sustained improvements in business performance. You will assist in the repair and diagnosis of all vehicle lines as they progress through their prebuild phases. You will be expected to highlight and manage all issues that may affect manufacturing up until final resolution. The candidate will be expected to work up to and including a 3-shift rotation. There may be cases where the candidate will be expected to show flexibility around shifts and overtime.,

  • Responsible for all light and heavy mechanical tasks, electrical tasks and trim tasks.
  • Carry out Mechanical and Electrical diagnosis and documentation of results.
  • Lead/participate in design change engineering groups
  • Assist Engineering with full root cause analysis
  • Problem solving through diagnostic software and implementation of PCA
  • Working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading diagnosis
  • Support progress of launch vehicles through all OTA diverts.
  • Issue management e.g. AIMS3, SIMS, MTTR, FLAGS, Qbay, D42
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

    Indentured Apprenticeship, Craftsman Certificate, or a Level 3 in one of the following - BTEC, NVQ, OCR Cambridge Nationals or National Diploma.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical diagnosis
  • Experience with diagnosis and repair of BEV vehicles
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong communication skills when working with various stakeholders
  • Ability to read Electrical / Technical drawings
  • Has experience with specialist diagnostic software (i.e VCATS, Corvus or similar dealership diagnostic software)
