Are you an experienced Automation Developer that would you like to join an award-winning Automation Centre of Excellence and play a vital role in modernising and improving the quality of services to our public sector clients?

We have a brand-new opportunity to join our team of Developers as they look to continually improve processes that support the service delivery to our clients.

We are looking for a talented Automation Developer, who will collaborate with Business Analysts and other colleagues across the business, to design and implement automated solutions for both small and large change projects. They will be expected to simultaneously balance and prioritise the needs of projects supporting a variety of services such as HR/ finance/ IT/ payroll/ recruitment etc.

This exciting hybrid role will require you to work at least twice a week with your team in either our Newport or Newcastle office and the rest of the week will be based from home.

What you'll be doing:

  • Simultaneously work on multiple delivery plans across different areas of the business

  • Collaborate with our Business Analysts to delivered projects within time, budget, and quality targets

  • Work closely with the Automation Support team to respond to that live service issues and deliver regular reviews of live automation performance

  • Coordinate planned deployments with internal and external customers

  • Review automation process documentation, adhering to governance and auditing requirements


  • What you'll bring:
  • A background in an IT environment with a passion to develop your skills in automation

  • Proficiency in coding languages such as VBA and C# with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts

  • A confident and flexible communication style to build and maintain relationships with technical and non-technical colleagues alike

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail

  • Knowledge in business process analysis, RPA process design and automation methodology


  • It would be great if you had:
  • Significant automation experience, preferably with UI Path, Blue Prism or similar

  • Experience integrating automation solutions with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM)

  • Certification in UiPath and/or Blue Prism

  • The ability to review and suggest improvements in coding, preferably in VBA or C#

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
