Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Sports Scientist to support our ultimate aim of maximising sporting performance and mitigating injury risk. You'll play a crucial role in evolving the department and positioning our club as a leader in sports science and medicine. In this exciting role, you will be entrusted to form collaborative and impactful relationships with players and cover physical assessment, strength and conditioning, physiology, biomechanics, recovery, sports technology, GPS data collection and analysis anthropometry and injury audit. - Drive performance - you'll design, implement and oversee the strength and conditioning program while continuously monitoring its impact
- Enhance our processes - you will help to develop and implement sports science systems to optimise performance in line with our vision
- Ensure operational compliance - you'll keep us compliant with UEFA and WSL regulations and maintain records in line with GDPR and relevant legislation
- Collaborate across teams - you will support on all aspects of player welfare, education, and health screening, with a special interest in injury prevention and the ultimate aim of maximising player availability
- Champion team development - you'll build a culture of continuous improvement and high performance across the medicine and Sports Science department
- Support our evolving strategy - you will work closely with the Research and Development department to ensure that we are at the forefront of the latest developments within elite sports science and medicine, We are a Disability Confident Leader. - Credible expertise - you hold a degree or equivalent in Sports Science or Strength and Conditioning. You also hold BASES or UKSCA accreditation as a Strength and Conditioning Coach
- Experience with elite athletes - you hold a verifiable record of success working with elite footballers and/or elite athletes domestically and internationally
- Proven background in strength and conditioning - you have a high level of experience in strength and conditioning services to athletes in elite level sports to improve performance, prevent injuries and ensure timely recoveries
- True team player - you work effectively with others, supporting and guiding team members to deliver high-quality work and achieve shared goals
- Excellent communication skills - you're confidently able to build and maintain impactful relationships
- Forward thinking approach - you're motivated to continuously challenge, learn and move forward
