The Analysis and Performance team supports the Insolvency Service with data, statistics and analysis. Our work provides senior leaders with evidence to support operational delivery, policy development and improving performance. As a Data Analyst in the Analysis and Performance team, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside other data and analysis professionals. You will collect, organise and study data to provide business insight. Working collaboratively with others in Analysis & Performance across a broad range of areas, you will understand, manipulate, and accurately analyse data, providing insight, briefing internal and external audiences in ways that make the complex easy to understand, particularly for non-specialist audiences. This role provides exposure to strategic decision-making across all areas of the Agency's operations and the corporate centre. You will work primarily with our Analysis Business Partners to develop and improve the team's outputs to maximise the value we get from our data., As a Data Analyst you will:

  • Produce regular performance reports and dashboards by analysing data to create compelling evidence-based and actionable data stories to share with stakeholders to drive decisions.
  • Help develop robust performance frameworks to support the understanding of performance and help drive performance improvement.
  • Carry out thoughtful, challenging and constructive analysis of data, to support the understanding of performance and help drive performance improvement.
  • Use a range of analytical techniques such as exploratory data analysis, descriptive statistics, time series analysis and correlation analysis to identify and predict trends in data.
  • Work with a variety of qualitative and quantitative data, ensuring data and analysis is of high quality and accuracy.
  • Provide challenge and collaborate with other digital and analytical professions, to provide collective insights.
  • Continuously improve processes and systems referring to the Analysis Function Standards for example, the Aqua Book.
