Full Job Description

Applications are welcomed from B5 and B6 Speech and Language Therapists who are interested in joining our mainstream schools team in Central Bedfordshire.

As a result of new investment, we are delighted to be implementing 'Link Speech and Language Therapists' to work collaboratively with schools around identification and support for all children with SLCN. The whole school approach will involve attending termly planning meetings with SENDCo's, assessment, intervention and training for staff.

You will be joining a team of other therapists in similar roles and will be supported by the school lead Speech and Language Therapist. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your core clinical skills and support will be offered for newly qualified therapists and this.

Main duties of the job

We need:

A motivated and enthusiastic therapist who is willing to work flexibly

Someone looking to develop their clinical knowledge and skills

You will:

Manage a caseload providing targeted, evidence-based assessment and therapy for children with a range of SLCN

Work as a link therapist for a number of mainstream schools in Central Bedfordshire

Attend termly planning meetings with the schools to jointly plan priorities, schedule therapy sessions and identify training needs for school staff

Work with the school lead SLT, wider team and therapy support practitioners in delivering high quality care

Maintain good communication with the schools and parents of the children referred to the service
