Full Job Description

This post is a Fixed Term Contract Maternity Cover from January - August 2025 . The role will involved Respiratory (including ITU and HDU), and being part of a 7 day working service and oncalls

  • To provide a high standard physiotherapy service within each rotation undertaken
  • To perform physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations of physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
  • To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service, or a particular patient type, working with and without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available if required, clinical work should be routinely evaluated.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To liaise effectively with other disciplines
  • To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams' clinical practice within each rotation. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team. May assist the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
  • To undertake training / study to ensure competency to participate in on-call and emergency duties as a lone practitioner within the trust, and thereafter to participate regularly in on-call and emergency duties as lone practitioner within the trust.
