Full Job Description

Due to the ongoing expansion of our extended surgical team (EST), we are recruiting 2 motivated, proactive and adaptable individuals from nursing, paramedic or AHP professional backgrounds to join our general surgery Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) team. We are recruiting for both qualified and/or trainee ACPs.

This role will be based predominantly at Heartlands hospital on the Surgical Assessment Unit, but the successful applicants will be required to work on other sites within the trust and will also be required to work shifts and unsocial hours including weekends and nights.

The surgical directorate is busy and dynamic, providing assessment and management areas for a variety of general and specialist surgical specialties. Working alongside members of the medical, nursing and EST workforce, the ACPs provide continuity, knowledge and clinical skill to improve patient care and management from attendance to discharge.

While experience of surgical environment is preferable for these positions, training and support will be provided to the right candidates without this specific background who shows genuine enthusiasm for this specialty. We also welcome interest from qualified ACPs from surgical and non-surgical backgrounds. Please contact the ACP team to discuss further.   • Non-medical prescriber (NMP) qualification or the professional ability to undertake this
