Full Job Description

  • Receive, sort, and load baggage onto conveyor belts and handling equipment for transportation to aircraft or storage areas.
  • Utilize automated baggage handling systems and equipment to track, scan, and transfer luggage to designated flights or destinations.
  • Ensure compliance with airline and airport security procedures and regulations while handling and processing baggage.
  • Coordinate with airline representatives, ground crews, and other stakeholders to prioritize baggage handling and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the bag hall area, including conveyor belts, sorting stations, and storage facilities.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to supervisors and follow established protocols for troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Assist passengers with lost or delayed baggage inquiries, providing support and guidance in locating and retrieving their belongings.
  • Adhere to Swissport's standards of service excellence, professionalism, and teamwork in all interactions and tasks.

    We are currently seeking proactive and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Bag Hall Agent. As a Bag Hall Agent with Swissport you will be responsible for handling and processing baggage in a timely and efficient manner to facilitate smooth operations within the airport environment., Previous experience in baggage handling, logistics, warehouse operations, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational requirements.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, and manoeuvre heavy baggage and cargo items as needed.

    You'll receive £13.45 per hour for the initial six months. Throughout this period, Swissport will actively foster the development of your skills and knowledge necessary for the role.
