Full Job Description

This post is an exciting experience for a qualified driver to take on. Our transport drivers use a wide range of Trust vehicles from electric tugs, tail lift box vans and shuttle buses to provide a varied supportive role to clinical and non-clinical teams. As well as gaining experience with a range of vehicles, this position will allow the successful applicant to expand their knowledge and connections within the trust., A transport driver is required to be helpful and respectful to patients' staff and visitors whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times. They will maintain high quality standards and will always conduct themselves in a professional manner. They will share best practice to promote and improve the transport service.

The post will include the movement of employees, beds, trolleys and wheelchairs around the hospital sites and the movement of items i.e. Furniture, post, specimens, patient notes, medical records, procurement stores items etc.

As and when required the post holder may work shifts in any area/location of the Trust and may be asked to carry out duties in other departments within the Facilities Directorate.

This role is suitable for drivers with the ability to work in a safe, courteous and confidential manner whilst following Trust Policy. We provide pre-determined routes in a fully equipped vehicle. Before starting their journey, the job holder must simply comply with safety checks and ensure their vehicle is supplied with fuel.

It is essential applicants hold a Valid Certificate of Professional Competence.

Applicants must also have a Valid Passenger Carrying Vehicle Licence.

It is also desirable that drivers hold a C1 Classification on their licence.
