Full Job Description

Maintain confidentiality at all times. Participate in the assessment of health care needs. Assist the registered nurse in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. At the direction of the registered nurse participate fully in the delivery of planned nursing care and treatment. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations. Prepare and set up clinics including trays, trolleys and examination rooms. Tidy and clean rooms and equipment as directed. During procedures provide assistance to medical and nursing staff when requested.

A great opportunity has arisen within Fracture/Orthopaedic Clinics for a Band 2 HCA to join our dedicated team .Clinic sessions are held Monday to Friday and we work across two sites. You will be expected to work within a team and independently. The candidate will be required to take on board new knowledge and skills. They must have good communication skills, and understanding towards patient needs when undertaking our service., Ability to get on well with people of all levels and work effectively as a team member. To act as a chaperon for patients attending clinics/ Consultants/Doctors., We require a motivated, reliable, pro-active individual that is of a sensitive and caring nature. Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills. The post is to work in Orthopaedics on both sites.,

  • Able to present factual information and refer questions to others where appropriate
  • Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
  • A basic understanding of organization of nursing care
  • Basic IT skills
  • Basic understanding of NHS issues
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Able to manage own workload, NVQ level 2 or equivalent experience, Experience working with children would be an advantage, Clear and accurate written and verbal communication, , Provide reasonable flexibility in terms of hours worked, Calm and approachable, Able to learn new skills

  • Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.
