Full Job Description

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic phlebotomists to join our team at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and Washwood Heath Community Diagnostic Centre (WWHCDC), part of UHB NHS Foundation Trust.,

  • Obtain blood samples from inpatients, outpatients, and clinics, including Paediatric and WWHCDC shifts.
  • Work 20--25 hours per week in flexible shifts, including evenings (up to 8 pm) and weekends on rotation.
  • Deliver services primarily at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, with shifts at WWHCDC and occasional cross-site cover.
  • Candidates must work independently, maintain confidentiality, and interact with patients professionally. A team ethos and commitment to patient care are essential. Working Hours:
  • Core: 07:30--20:00, Monday to Friday.
  • Weekend Wards: 07:00--10:30; Weekend WWHCDC: 08:30--20:00.

    This role requires compassion, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Applicants must have recent phlebotomy experience (preferably within six months) and complete local training and competency assessments upon appointment.
