Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated individuals to join the Radiology Department at University Hospital Birmingham, for the following position:

  • Receptionist based at BHH/WHH (30 hour/weeks, Permanent Post)
  • Hours: 5 x 6 hour shifts, between 8am-9pm Monday -Sunday (flexible working is required covering a 7 day service)
  • We are looking for individuals with experience in reception duties and liaising with staff, patients and external agencies, such as GP's, Dentists etc.Main duties of the job Provide patients with support, non-clinical advice and information on a range of issues including appointment queries. Notify patients of new or changes to appointments. Be sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of staff, patients and other service users when communicating by telephone or face to face, including dealing with a difficult situation, e.g. aggressive or demanding behaviour, escalating conflict situations where necessary.

    Accuracy and attention to details are paramount. Candidates should also be flexible and confident in prioritising their workload and should have experience in NHS clinical systems such as CRIS and Oceano and excellent communication skills.
