Full Job Description

We are looking for a person to join our Community Admin Team. You will be the first point of contact for all patients who access the community nursing service for Birmingham & Solihull.

We are looking for someone who is organised, conscientious, has an eye for detail and a caring nature. You will have a professional attitude to your work and will be required to uphold the trust values when representing the team/organisation. experience of working in a hospital setting would be advantageous and knowledge of patient's pathways and patient admin systems would be ideal.

You will process all referrals into the service for our 4 locality nursing teams who cover Rural Solihull, Shirley, Central Solihull and the North. The service runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week, you will be rostered to cover 1 of 2 shifts (8-4 or 11-7) throughout the working week and will be required to work weekends on a rota basis with alternative days off.

You will be part of a busy team of admin and will receive lots of support to develop your skills within the team., The role requires the individual to have excellent IT skills, excellent communication skills both written and verbal. You will have a good understanding of confidentiality and processes/principals. Undertake Clerical tasks including data input, filing, photocopying, creating basic documents, arrange meetings, book rooms, respond to emails and process complex information. You will work as a key part of the admin team and will be required to work as a team, provide cross cover and support to community services. You will take calls, process information and redirect callers as appropriate. You must have an eye for detail and be able to work well under pressure. You will be the position of contact for patients who are contacting emergency services and therefore must be able to remain calm, be able to handle difficult situations or information and take the appropriate action to best support the patients or relatives.
