Full Job Description

This is a physically demanding role which involves moving packages / boxes of varying size and weight to racking within the theatre store. Reporting to your Line Manager you will be expected to maintain a practical knowledge of the delivery routes around the theatres to meet user requirements. Recognising when stock levels are low and taking appropriate action is an important part of this role to ensure the Theatres continue to operate without disruption. Over time you will develop working knowledge of standard materials management practices governing different kinds of stock. The theatre stores also house the sterile sets required for operating procedures, trucks arrive at set times and will require unloading and placing on the relevant shelves in a timely manner. You will also be expected to provide assistance to the theatre staff and company representatives as required., Participate in the bagging and packing of used instrumentation for dispatch to Synergy Health Care using the appropriate procedure in accordance with Theatre Guidelines and Trust Policy. Unpacking of the theatre stores and transferring to the appropriate theatre suite under the guidance of the Materials Manager. Maintains excellent communication and working relationships with all members of the surgical team. Dispose of clinical waste in accordance with Theatre Guidelines and Trust Policy. Be responsible for ensuring that all Theatre Support equipment used in patient care is cleaned and stored appropriately. Train other theatre staff as appropriate. Responsible for answering the telephone and communicating appropriate messages. Responsible for assisting in maintaining the security of the department., The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Theatres Stores are transferred to each theatre suite & put on the shelves. The individual works under the direction of the Materials Manager, packs and bags all theatre instrumentation for dispatch to Synergy Health Care as well as unloads the clean packs on arrival in the Trust, inspecting the outer wrapping before putting it away on the shelves., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Previous experience of working in a stores environment is desirable but not essential as training will be given. You will be required to have computer skills.,
