Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Dietetic Department at West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust for a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference by assisting the Dietetic Team in delivering high-quality nutrition support. This full-time Dietetic Assistant position is perfect for someone with a keen interest in nutrition, offering an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the Dietetic service. The role is based at Watford General Hospital and is supported by a team of 19 experienced static and rotational staff members.,

  • To provide a nutrition and dietetic service by carrying out supportive clinical and non-clinical duties in the department, on the wards and in outpatients settings.
  • To work independently on a one to one basis with patients and carers, to facilitate treatment under the supervision of a dietitian.
  • To organise and regulate the upkeep of equipment, stock and working environment on a daily basis.
  • To communicate effectively with dietitians and other team members giving feedback on treatment and progress.
  • To assist with updating catering sheets daily and liaise with catering team as appropriate.
