Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our financial accounts team on a permanent basis. This role will give the successful candidate a broad range of experience within a financial accounts function and provide a solid foundation for a career in NHS finance. We are committed to the development of our finance team, and will support the successful candidate in continuing their accountancy studies.,

  • Receive and analyse information in order to undertake monthly reconciliations of control accounts, identifying errors and discrepancies,
  • and taking appropriate actions to clear reconciling balances.
  • Carry out recording of income and expenditure in relation to the Trust's charitable fund quickly and accurately, raising queries with the
  • Trust's Charity Manager where required, and counting and processing cash and cheque donations to the charity.
  • Preparing regular finance reports for the charitable fund to be presented to the charitable funds committee, and the annual accounts for
  • the charitable fund for review by the Financial Accountant.
  • Carry out recording of income and expenditure in relation to the Trust's hosted organisation (Partners in Paediatrics), raising orders and
  • resolving queries with relevant staff as required.
  • To assist in the preparation of Trust month end reports and annual statutory accounts, as required., The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Financial Accounting Team in the production of accurate and timely financial information. This will involve the processing of financial information on the general ledger, the analysis of income and expenditure transactions and support to the Financial Accounting Team with the month end and annual accounts processes for the Trust, its associated charitable fund and hosted organisation (Partners in Paediatrics)

    The successful candidate will have completed at least AAT level 3, or equivalent, with relevant experience in a finance office or similar environment. The ideal candidate will have good working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. The finance department is continuously looking for ways in which to improve the service we provide to the wider trust, so it is important for the post holder to be able to use their initiative to resolve problems and identify opportunities for improvement
