- To meet & greet patient on arrival, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment within the Outpatient Department.
- To set up and prepare clinics.
- To check patient's vital signs and document prior to consultations
- To assist and chaperone clinicians/patients in clinics.
- To ensure safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect.
- To ensure patients and their relatives/carers understand the outcome of consultations/Treatment and progress and discharge plan after care.

- To receive and register patient attending outpatient.
- To perform clinical tasks appropriate to level of training and competencies e.g. Vital signs
- To act as a chaperone as required by Clinicians and Patients.
- To assist Clinicians with routine medical procedures, examinations and document clinical tasks such as chaperoning and consent.
- To report any concern to nurse in charge.
- To assist in maintaining the cleanliness and serviceability of Outpatient facilities and equipment's, arrange for maintenance as and when required
- To ensure patients are made aware of any delays in clinics.
- To ensure all duties are carried out safely and to a high standard.
West Herts NHS Trust is looking to recruit a full-time band 3 Health Care Assistant to join our Team at Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Outpatient Department. This position require flexibility working Monday -Friday between 4-5 days based on the need of the service excluding bank holiday. Please note - unfortunately, we are not able to obtain a Certificate of Sponsorship (Work Permit) for this role.
