Full Job Description

We require an enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Psychologist to join our Neuropsychology department to support the role of our Clinical Neuropsychologists. The Regional Neurosciences Centre at Queens Hospital covers a population of around 750,000. The post therefore provides an exciting opportunity for a candidate wishing to develop and broaden their knowledge of adult neurological and neurosurgical conditions. There will be an emphasis of the role to support inpatient services (including stroke), the specialist Deep Brain Stimulation surgery service, and outpatient diagnostic assessment clinics. The post holder will develop skills and competencies in neuropsychological assessment through administering a wide range of psychometric assessment tools with digital and paper based administration, and undertaking observational studies where appropriate to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. There will be opportunities for developing skills in MDT working and undertaking brief, To support and enhance the professional psychological and neuropsychological care of patients provided by qualified professional clinical neuropsychologists working within the neurosciences unit across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Previous experience of administering psychometric tools is desirable but not essential. The post holder will also have excellent communication, team working and interpersonal skills and will work with the PRIDE values of the Trust.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
