Full Job Description

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a Major Trauma Centre which hosts the largest secondary and tertiary medical specialities in the country.

The Emergency Department sees approximately 90,000 patients per year.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated team player to come and join us and be a vital part in delivering the 4- hour performance.

You will be working alongside the ED nursing team to facilitate the transfer and/or discharge of patients. Ensuring that things flow in a timely manner. The successful candidate will support members of the multi-disciplinary team with patient discharge arrangements including where required booking transport., The post holder will work closely with the both the clinical and operational team to ensure a smooth flow of patients out of the Emergency Department. The successful post holder will review the number of referrals to other Wards/ specialities and the ambulance service, anticipate and escalate any issues that would cause delays. They will communicate effectively with wards to confirm availability of beds noted by site management.
