Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Associate - Learning Disability to join our team of Learning Disability Nurses, Registered Mental Health Nurses and General nurses within the Vulnerabilities Team at UHB. As a Nursing Associate you will work in a clinical field supporting patients with a Learning disability and/or Autistic, with minimal supervision from and report to a Registered Nurse (Level 1). You will deliver safe, compassionate and dignified patient centred health care. You will be expected to plan and prioritise your workload; implement evidence-based care; utilise relevant guidance, protocols, and policies (local and national); contribute to care planning and patient reviews. You will be responsible for completing any work based training and associated competency required by the role.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking Nurse Associate - Learning Disability who is passionate about working with Children, Young People and Adults with a Learning Disability and /or Autistic and passionate about ensuring inclusion and accessibility to services.
This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, 8am -4pm. This is a cross site role so daily access to your own vehicle is essential., You will effectively manage your own active caseload with supervision from a trained Learning Disability Nurse and will be responsible for keeping all clinical and safeguarding records up to date and in line with NMC guidelines and responsible for maintaining high standards of care and practice.
As a member of this team, you will be supported with regular clinical supervision, appraisal and relevant team meetings.
Ideally you will have experience of working with Children, young people and adults with a Learning Disability and/or Autistic.
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be capable of problems solving and working under pressure.
Working alongside members of the Vulnerabilities team, you will support effective nursing care and nursing interventions for people with a Learning disability and/or Autism
You will form part of the Vulnerabilities team, and will be expected to access, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care and escalate any areas of concern
