Full Job Description

An exciting position has arisen for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and well-organised individual to join the Overseas office at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. You will be required to efficiently liaise with all Trust personnel to identify and monitor overseas visitors to ensure that the Trust Policy is adhered to. You will be required to interview patients at arranged appointments or on the Ward to establish eligibility for free NHS Treatment and ensure that any treatment is paid for in advance whenever possible. Consult the Home Office to verify eligibility and the Finance department to ensure invoices are raised in a timely manner. You will be expected to have a competent knowledge of the Department of Health and Social Services Regulation's for Overseas Visitors and will be required to keep up to date on all new legislation. This post will be based at Queen's Hospital, Romford with a requirement to travel to King George Hospital when necessary., The post-holder will manage the daily administrative systems needed to ensure that all overseas visitors that are not exempt from payment for NHS treatment are identified. The post-holder will endeavour to ensure all relevant payment is made prior to the patient receiving treatment.

We operate from two main sites - King George Hospital (KGH) in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London - more than 300,000 people visited our A&Es in 2023.

Patients across north east London are benefitting from two new state of the art theatres at KGH and our Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub will significantly increase the number of scans that can be carried out.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
