Working within the Quality Governance Team a key focus of this role is providing an accessible and responsive service for patients, relatives and members of the public who wish to ask questions, provide feedback or raise concerns about their experiences of healthcare within Somerset. You will offer nonclinical advice, guidance and signposting to other services, and be a point of contact throughout the complaints process, working within NHS Complaints Regulations.

You will also be providing valuable support and resilience within the Quality, Safety and Improvement Team, including the setting up and recording of meetings and maintenance of action logs in a timely, effective and efficient manner. This varied role will provide the opportunity to work with individuals, teams and services within NHS Somerset, as well as provider and volunteer organisations across the wider system., As a Quality Governance Coordinator your main duties will include:

The effective taking, managing and coordination of PALS contacts and concerns and supporting the complaints process.

Coordinating the reporting and sharing of patient safety events / significant event audits (SEA) between providers and facilitation of shared learning across the system.

Keeping spreadsheets and / or electronic systems up to date with the progress and outcomes of patient experience and patient safety contacts or events. Providing analysis, and oversight of insight for the wider quality team.

Supporting members of the Quality, Safety and Improvement team with the coordination of meetings including the preparation and production of agendas, reports and presentations for meeting and taking clear and concise minutes of meetings and action notes.

You will have a range of administrative functions and responsibilities to oversee, so it is essential you work in an organised and efficient manner, being able to multitask and handle large amounts of work with conflicting deadlines. You will be able to work autonomously and able to effectively manage your own workload., We offer flexible working from your first day of employment and we also have an agile approach to home / office-based working. Please note however, that you will be required to work from our HQ, Wynford House in Yeovil for 2/3 days per week and that elements of the role may require you to travel to other locations across Somerset, to attend in-person meetings and meet the needs of the service. We are looking for someone with a calm, kind, compassionate and people centred approach who is able to deal with confidence, personal integrity and professionalism during often highly sensitive situations; someone who is organised, able to follow processes with a keen eye for detail and able to maintain clear and concise records. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential and demonstrable use of initiative.
