Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Gynaecology ward at St Helens & Whiston Hospital for a dynamic TCU/Discharge Co Ordinator to join the team of dedicated nursing staff in the Gynaecology Department.
Our Gynaecology services provided include; -Rapid Access - Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit -Rapid Access Clinics for post-menopausal bleeding / hysteroscopy -Colposcopy -Cancer Surgery as part of the Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Network -Urology -Minor Procedures -Major & Day Case Surgery -Vulval Clinics., The Admissions / Discharge Co-ordinator plays an integral role in the ward MDT.
They are a part of the daily board round feeding in the social needs of each patient.
They meet with all patients and their families to ascertain their requirements for discharge and then play a pivotal role in ensuring this is completed and is ready for when they are medically fit for discharge.
They attend the DTL Meetings in order to discuss with community partners, the needs of individual patients in order to ensure a safe rapid discharge.
- They will carry out basic patient care as instructed by the ward manager responsible for the area
We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our Gynaecology Team. The post holder must be enthusiastic with a passion for excellence within the delivery of patient care, and be able to work effectively as a member of the team. You must possess a caring, compassionate and positive manner, and have excellent communication skills. A flexible approach to the working environment is essential for this post.

We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
