Full Job Description

The position will be based at Thames House in Oxford, a 24-bedded female low secure forensic unit. The unit comprises of 2 wards, an acute assessment ward and a rehabilitation-focused ward.
We are an innovative service, developing and strengthening our provision to include a wide spectrum of interventions including sensory assessments, vocational opportunities, and links with the Recovery College.

+ All new starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale
+ Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual seeking a rewarding opportunity as a Band 5 or 6 Occupational Therapist? Join us in our low secure forensic service on a permanent contract, where you can make a real difference in the lives of individuals in need.
In addition to a competitive salary, this role also includes an RSU Allowance of £1,446 per annum., + Managing a varied and, at times, complex case load.
+ Providing evidence-based and client-centred occupational therapy
Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions
+ Providing leadership for junior/non-registered staff through supervision and appraisal.
+ Participating in the planning, development, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service.
+ Being a key member of the multi-disciplinary team.
+ Contributing to the maintenance and development of the trust-wide Occupational Therapy service.
+ Actively participating in the education of occupational therapy students
+ Engaging in teaching/presentations of specialist skills for professional development.
