Full Job Description
- The post holder will work closely with the cath lab manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development as part of the ward team. Also, act as a care team leader ensuring the needs of the patients are met.
- To be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of all staff by acting as a mentor with the support of their senior colleagues.
- To take part in the on -call / out of hours rota on a regular basis.
- The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care with direct supervision and is required to demonstrate procedures, supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment
- To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area.
The Royal Brompton Hospital invasive cardiology suites are comprised of 5 cardiac catheter labs, and a hybrid theatre, providing you the opportunity to work at the forefront of cardiac research & treatment. We currently undertake over 5000 cases per annum. It is an interesting & varied environment that caters for the following procedures: - Diagnostic cardiac angiography;
- Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI);
- Electrophysiology studies (EPS) & intervention;
- Device implants including Bi-ventricular pacemakers (CRT-P & -D), Subcutaneous ICDs and implantable defibrillators;
- A full range of diagnostic & interventional procedures for paediatric and adult patients with congenital heart disease;
- Valvular intervention, including TAVI, TMVI, and Mitraclip;
- Other Hybrid, including TEVAR/EVAR
