Full Job Description

Orsborn House CMHT is offering a Preceptorship programme to help newly qualified nurses get the very best start, not only within nursing but within community nursing/community care.Our preceptorship programme is designed specifically for you as a newly qualified nurse, to support you in that transition and to build the confidence of working independently within a community setting.

The programme is a 'hands' on practical approach by where you will be allocated a mentor to work under the supervision of, whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. As part of the preceptorship you will meet with service users, parents and carers to gain insight of what the expectations are from a recipient's perspective.

Main duties of the job

As well as discussing with members of the team around the challenges and achievements of not only the team but individuals, whilst carrying a slightly reduced caseload to work with under the supervision of the mentor and team.

To work within the depot, physical well-being and blood clinics at West Hub CMHT, Orsborn House, Handsworth. To provide evidence-based interventions to those people attending the clinics and provide outreach work within service users homes to administer depot medication as and when required

Upon successful completion of the 18 month preceptorship programme.
