Full Job Description
To act as professional role model/ team leader, setting standards of practice, promoting clinical effectiveness both generally and within the speciality and creating opportunities for teaching others.
To effectively organise and manage the department, delegating responsibilities to other members of the team in a timely and effective manner.
To continue your development in managerial skills and lead the team in the absence of more senior staff.

Main duties of the job
Following appropriate training and assessment you will be expecting to perform the clinical care duties:
Visual Acuity
Performing Fluorescein Angiograms, and Photodynamic Therapy
Cannulation
Venepuncture
Communication:
The post holder will need to have excellent communication skills, being required to communicate effectively within the team; participate in motivating and supporting team members with the ability to supervise staff and students in the absence of more senior staff.
They will act as a role model including mentor for learners and junior staff and participate in ward meetings to help to promote new ideas and to benefit care.
The post holder will be in receipt of confidential and sensitive information and will deal with it according to Trust policy.
The post holder will be responsible for setting up the clinic rooms
Patient Care:
The post holder will be responsible for providing direct patient care within the department; taking into account individual patient needs and prioritising effectively; ensuring that when a patient's condition is deteriorating this is communicated and reported to other members of the healthcare team and acted upon in a professional and timely manner., of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
