Full Job Description

This is an exciting time to join our ever-growing Endoscopy Unit. We are introducing new and innovative procedures and want to grow our highly skilled workforce to complement this.
Endoscopy at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital is a JAG-accredited unit running a seven-day service, using a range of latest technology to treat our patients to the highest standard at all times.
Our skilled nursing team are trained to consent, assist with procedures, recover and discharge patients along with being trained to undertake technical aspects of the role including the handling of endoscopes and other clinical devices.
If you are a newly qualified or an established registered nurse that wishes to specialise in endoscopy and learn new skills and feel that you can bring high quality care and compassion to our unit, please apply for this position., The post holder will provide a high standard of nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of patient care.
To work closely with the Endoscopy Operational Manager, Ward Managers and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development within the Endoscopy department environment.
To carry out all relevant forms of care under supervision and when proficient demonstrate procedures of care; supervise junior qualified and / or unqualified staff including student nurses whilst maintaining a safe working environment., Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services to a growing population of around 700,000 people living across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas across two busy hospital sites in Bedford and Luton. Both hospital sites offer key services such as A&E, Obstetrics-led Maternity and Paediatrics.
