Full Job Description

  • Triage & Assessment nurse
  • Delivering treatment & care as per Drs plan
  • Facilitating discharges
  • Multi disciplinary team communication
  • Work according to the NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour and relevant professional guidelines
  • Use up to date knowledge and evidence to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care
  • Assume responsibility for undertaking tasks delegated by the nominated line/shift manager. This may include representing the practice setting at meetings, link nurse responsibilities, audit, governance initiatives and supervision and role competence assessments for unregistered nurses and students/ trainees
  • Contribute to the development of service and quality improvement initiatives within a collaborative framework to enhance patient experience, outcome and ensure standards of care

    The Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC), provides medical assessment & review for patients within a set criteria who need medical review but not necessarily admission. The aim of our service to avoid unnecessary admissions. . The unit also facilitates an 'Admission Avoidance' clinic which provides follow-up services for patients who have been discharged on early support provision. SDEC is a dynamic area, staff will gain experience in triage skills & patient care. Good communication skills are essential to allow for timely delivery of care and patient selection. Staff are encouraged to seek development and training requests will be considered. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a passion for Acute Medicine. You will need to be a creative thinker, problem-solver and team player.
