Full Job Description

To be a key member of a multidisciplinary team who provides professional support and advice to patients who have undergone stoma formation surgery., To contribute to the day to day running of the stoma care service. To take an active role in communicating with the multidisciplinary team. To provide efficient administration to the stoma clinical nurse specialists.

  • To be responsible for patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care, for a defined group of patients in agreement with Stoma Care CNS Team.
  • To support the stoma care nurses to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients ensuring it delivers the best patient experience and clinical outcomes. To lead the training and development of Nursing Healthcare Assistants. To assist with training and development of other healthcare professionals. Be a point of contact within the stoma team for patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals. Manage non-clinical administrative duties, including co-ordinating diary commitments. Accurate entry of data onto computer systems. Ability to learn to use internal hospital IT systems - including EPR and CERNER. Keep patient records up to date with clinical correspondence. Maintain clinical databases and produce regular reports. Co-ordinate training events. Assist with managing admission processes, booking beds and transport as required Manage stock levels, ordering and supplies
