Full Job Description

As Systems Commissioning Technician, you will be required to work closely with both the Engineers and the Workshop Manager assisting with the day-to-day running of the department, monitoring and controlling workshop performance, including deputising for the Workshop Manager for short term absences or annual leave. You will take an active part in record keeping, plus prioritising work as workloads dictate.

You will be required to undertake maintenance, repairs, minor improvements and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures. Testing and inspection of installations to ensure compliance with BS7671 forms a major part of this role.

We are looking for an experienced and suitably qualified Systems Commissioning Technician to join our Estates Department, You will be qualified to a minimum of HNC in Electrical or Mechanical or Building Services Engineering with significant experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hospital environment. Previous experience of steam, water systems, gas, medical gases, autoclaves, Trend BMS, air-conditioning and refrigeration would also be an advantage.

This post is primarily based at the Royal Free Hospital but you may be required to work in other areas within the Trust.

You will be required to work a split shift working pattern and to participate in the out-of-hours emergency on-call rota.
