Full Job Description

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to advance the care of patients with Rheumatic Diseases.
The post holder will work closely with the Rheumatology Consultants, Specialist Nurses and nursing administration staff . This post is substantive and full time (37.5 hours per week, 5 days Monday- Friday).

To provide effective nursing leadership, expertise, advice and support to the multidisciplinary team and ensure the provision of high quality care to patients within the Rheumatology Service.
To act as a role model and expert practitioner in relation to Rheumatology nursing.
To co-ordinate all aspects of nursing care and support from the pre-test stage and diagnosis in their social, emotional and health needs, referring to appropriate professionals and services where necessary.
To act as a resource to patients with a Rheumatology condition and for other professionals caring for them.
To promote an innovative and progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence based practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 6/7 (based on experience and formal qualifications) conscientious, enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate to join the Rheumatology Service at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust. The post will be based mainly at Watford, however, you will also be required to work across one other site for 1 or 2 days at either St Albans City Hospital, or Hemel Hempstead Hospital. The Lead Interviewer will be happy to discuss this with the successful candidate.
