Full Job Description
You will be expected to work closely with the surgical team, assisting in implementing practice change where required., Working as part of a MDT providing ophthalmology surgical procedures. Assisting both anaesthetist, surgeon and day ward MDT in the preparation of patients undergoing ophthalmic surgical procedures., To help coordinate the skilled care of patients within their theatre specialty, demonstrating expertise in all aspects of the care of patients. As required, to provide direct support to clinicians and patients. To contribute to the management of the specialty by acting as a professional role model, able to confidently lead a team.
We are looking for a highly motivated Scrub Theatre Practitioner with experience in Ophthalmology in both Anterior and Posterior Segment Surgical Procedures. You will have proven clinical leadership skills to work within our busy Eye Day Ward Operating Theatre Department. Motivated and enthusiastic about your own professional development and keen to enhance your skills and competencies within the team. As a professional role model, you will provide a high standard of evidence based clinical leadership and practice development to support our team of professionals.,
- RN or RODP
- Mentorship or teaching and assessing qualification
- Post registration qualification/module in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery and/or HDU, Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate considerable experience in anaesthetics and/or surgery and/or recovery
- Experience of teaching and assessing Desirable criteria
- Evidence of professional development
- Experience in team leading, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
