Full Job Description

To work primarily, but not exclusively, in the resuscitation area to provide, develop and coordinate high quality nursing care to patients attending with emergency and major trauma care needs.
To participate in the support and professional development of all staff., St. George's Emergency Department is one of the largest in the country, seeing approximately 160, 000 patients a year. The Trust is one of only four designated Major Trauma Centres in London, with a helipad providing direct access to the ED for the most seriously injured patients. The Trust is also a hyper-acute stroke unit and a heart attack centre.
We are searching for highly motivated nurse with critical care or emergency nursing experience to join our friendly team of Emergency Care Nurses (ECN).
This innovative role was established in 2006 to work primarily in the highly equipped 8-bedded resuscitation area of the Emergency Department providing care and technical expertise to the most severely ill and injured adults and children.
The department is committed to supporting on-going professional development with strong links to academic programmes and a well-established work-based development programme. You will supported in further development by the Practice Education Team and medical colleagues.
We are looking for nurses with a significant post-registration experience in ED / critical care and a strong interest in emergency and major trauma care. It is essential that you have a post registration specialist course and experience of local management skills within your current area.
We would welcome interest from people with a strong interest in teaching and research to support the on-going development of the role.
