Full Job Description

The EPR Team and Education teams are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join us and play a vital role in the provision of training for staff to enable a successful implementation of our new Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium EPR on a shared domain with Barts Health. To make implementation and adoption of our new EPR a success, it is vital that our staff are fully trained and confident in using the new systems, and the role of the EPR Senior Trainer is key to this success. Our EPR Senior Trainers will be responsible for the provision of face-to-face and virtual training to a range of trust staff, using their significant experience of training to develop high-quality lesson plans, provide outstanding training, and support our team of Band 5 EPR Trainers, deputising for the EPR Training Lead when needed. We are looking for individuals with significant experience of large-scale digital training programmes, who are passionate about using this experience to support our staff through this exciting time. We would welcome informal enquiries in advance, and ask all internal BHRUT staff to discuss any secondment opportunities with their existing line manager before applying., For further information on this role, please see the attached detailed Job Description and Person Specification.

  • Deputise for the EPR Training Lead in their absence when required.
  • Deal with any immediate queries regarding staff or training and escalate if necessary, in the absence of the EPR Training Lead.
  • Prepare any reports/documents that may be required including the EPR training classroom schedules and EPR monthly training reports.
  • Mentoring any new starters within the EPR Training team.
  • Deliver EPR training in the classroom, via MS teams and any other designated area in accordance with the training schedule using the training resources available when required.
  • Collaborate and work closely with subject matter experts (SME's), and end users which will include all staff groups at BHRUT to validate training content.
  • Undertake the relevant preparation for each training session you are delivering.
  • Undertake post course administration in accordance with the departmental process using BEST (BHRUT's In-House Learning Management System) to record classroom session outcomes.
  • Provide bespoke training for identified groups of staff outside of business as usual (BAU) if required.

We're an organisation that is getting better and better. We were the most improved Trust in England for A&E performance in 2023/24; we're no longer in special measures; and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal. Our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we're proud of and that our patients are happy with.
  • Many of our 8,000 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. More than 400 of them are on apprenticeship programmes and we're proud to be a London Living Wage employer. We operate from two main sites - King George Hospital (KGH) in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London - more than 300,000 people visited our A&Es in 2023. Patients across north east London are benefitting from two new state of the art theatres at KGH and our Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub will significantly increase the number of scans that can be carried out. We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
