Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Woodland Neonatal Unit, at Watford General Hospital.
We are looking for full time or part time Band 6 Neonatal Nurses, who want to work with our well established friendly neonatal team, to deliver the highest standards of neonatal care.
The Woodland Neonatal Unit at Watford Hospital is a busy local neonatal unit (LNU) within the East of England Neonatal network. The unit admits baby requiring intensive care, high dependency and special care.
In addition, we manage a 6 bedded Transitional Care Unit in postnatal ward. We are committed to the provision of high quality evidence based practice to meet the needs of parents and babies incorporating family centred care.
The post holder should have expertise in working with complex cases that will require intensive support and excellent clinical knowledge.
The successful applicant will work in a highly autonomous manner and able to appropriately manage clinical risk during clinical practice, while having recourse to other professionals for guidance.
The post requires experience, knowledge and skills of working in a neonatal unit at senior level.
Previous Band 6 or management experience is desirable.
The successful candidate will lead/coordinate shifts, be able to work well independently and within the team and support junior staff as well as pre-registration student nurses.
