Full Job Description

We are looking for a Band 6 Musculoskeletal physiotherapist to support the MSK physiotherapy team at Victoria Hospital, Deal. This post will also be required to work within other South Kent Coast sites as the service demands. The South Kent Coast MSK Physiotherapy sites are; Dover Health Centre, Dover and Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone
This role will be based at Victoria Hospital, Deal with some working days being based at Dover Health Centre, Dover or Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone. As a Senior Physiotherapist some travel is expected to other South Kent Coast sites and, ad hoc throughout Kent for training and to help meet service demands.
Part time hours may be considered for the right candidate at a minimum of 30 hours over 4 days.
If a suitable candidate is not found from the interview process, this role may be offered as a developmental opportunity at band 5 level. It would be expected that this candidate, following a structured competency framework, would reach competence required for the band 6 role within a 6-month probationary period., We provide outpatient MSK care to the population of the South Kent Coast. We are based in Victoria Hospital in Deal and also work from Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone and Dover Health Centre. We also have multiple satellite clinics in GP surgeries in the surrounding Canterbury and Thanet area that the post holder could be expected to work in.
They will be required to travel across trust sites in a timely manner. The post holder will provide comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous practitioner, some of which can be complex cases. The job will involve virtual working clinically to assess patients across the wider Kent Musculoskeletal service.
They will be responsible for the management of their own caseload of patients and maintaining appropriate records under the supervision of a clinical lead and clinical specialist physiotherapists.
They will be actively involved in the running of outpatient group sessions as provided by the service e.g. lower limb classes, Back rehabilitation Classes, Back and Knee education sessions, ESCAPE knee class and shoulder classes.
They will be required to provide supervision and development of physiotherapy students, apprentices, assistants, band 5s and peers. They will be expected to be involved in some service development projects.
