Band 6 Neuropsychiatry Nurse - The Barberry

The department of Neuropsychiatry is a regional, multi disciplinary team who come together to support patients who have a range of diagnoses. We work with patients who have epilepsy, NEAD, functional disorders, Tourette's, sleep disorders, Huntington's Disease and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
The post holder will:
+ Organising, planning and facilitating service user education and management groups.
+ Act as an independent practitioner managing a defined caseload of service users within the specialist neuropsychiatric setting
+ To work alongside other members of the Neuropsychiatry team to provide a service for Non Epileptic Attack Disorder, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Epilepsy patients.
+ To enhance service users recovery and enable self management of symptoms., 1. To support the multidisciplinary team in managing patients with Non Epileptic Attack Disorder, Chronic Fatigue and Epilepsy. Liaising with Community Mental Health Teams and co-working patients (where appropriate).
2. To monitor and evaluate treatment plans for people with Non Epileptic Attack Disorder, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Epilepsy and liaising with multidisciplinary agencies, to ensure an effective care package is delivered.
3. Responsible for providing time-limited interventions for people who have non-epileptic attack disorder, Chronic Fatigue and Epilepsy.
4. Responsible for the promotion of carer and service user involvement within the service and for its provision.
5. Responsible for the setting of quality standards, including the monitoring and reviewing in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
6. Responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships with service users, and the implementation of evidence based therapeutic interventions with appropriate boundaries in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Councils professional code of conduct., Our Trust is committed to treating individuals fairly and ensuring they have the same opportunities to fulfil their potential, even if this means doing things differently for different people sometimes. Please note, if applicable for your role you will be required to cover the cost of your DBS certificate. This will be deducted from your salary over 3 months. You will also be required to sign up to the DBS Update Service before commencement with the Trust.
All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust's induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your first week with us.
