Full Job Description

  • To work in a multi-speciality private patients unit.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner whilst facilitating effective multidisciplinary care within relevant clinical areas.
  • To work in an integrated therapy team including other physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and language therapists, therapy assistants and ward staff (clinical & nonclinical).
  • To provide an advanced standard of physiotherapy assessment and treatment to inpatients without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from a team lead is available as and when required. Clinical work is routinely evaluated.
  • To work with patient's families or carers to provide an advanced level of support, education and expectation of the outcome of the inpatient stay.
  • To supervise, teach and appraise therapy assistant and physio student.
  • To participate in Continuing Professional Development, evidence - based audit and research projects that will enhance the service.
  • The band 6 Physiotherapist will be included in the 7-day working roster, which involves working up to 1 weekend every 4 weeks, plus 2 Bank Holidays per annum. 2 consecutive scheduled days off will be given in the week before or after the weekend worked and Agenda for Change pay enhancements apply

In private patients' unit, physiotherapy is recognised as a vital key discipline of our MDT team to provide services for our international and local patients. The AHP team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapist, dietitian, and therapy assistants/rehab technicians covering private patients inpatient and outpatient services. We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic person to join our private patients Therapies & Dietetic Team, who has experience of working in hospital settings. The private patients at the Royal Free Sites. Our streams of Services include: Care of the Elderly People, Trauma & Elective Orthopaedics, Respiratory and Cardiology, Renal, Amputees, Vascular, Amputee and Palliative. The successful candidate is required to demonstrate the Trust values, and meet the criteria for the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.
