Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a wonderful team of Oncology Physiotherapists at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. The primary base is our new inpatient hospital based in Liverpool City Centre, however there may be times when you are asked to work over at our Wirral and Aintree sites. This role would be suitable for those looking to develop their specialist oncology skills or Band 5 Physiotherapists ready to step into a Band 6 role. This post is a Fixed Term Position until the end of November 2025. We would also consider applications for an external secondment, subject to prior approval from the applicant's line manager.

The Physiotherapy service covers Monday to Friday 8.00 - 16.30 with on call cover Saturday and Sunday 08.00 - 16.30 on a rota basis. Our on call service covers ward based respiratory patients at CCC Liverpool only. (We do not have ventilated patients or NIV/CPAP).

You will be supported with a comprehensive induction and training package, regular peer support, in-service training and 1:1 clinical supervision.

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist who is passionate about the delivery of high quality services and optimising care. You will join our innovative, forward thinking team working in a supportive environment with strong quality focus. We have clear Trust values which underpin our drive to support you to meet your individual development needs and career aspirations.

Main duties of the job

The role is hugely rewarding and enables Physiotherapists to develop areas of special interest. You will be given training and support to help you develop your Oncology skills and manage this varied caseload.

The majority of your role will be supporting our Haemato-Oncology and Solid Tumour patients to live well, with and beyond Cancer. You will have a varied and diverse caseload including rehabilitation, respiratory, neurology, metastatic spinal cord compression management, scar tissue management and elements of palliative and supportive care.

We promote close MDT working allowing a holistic approach to patient care.

You will consolidate knowledge and develop clinical and non-clinical skills within a supportive environment and be actively involved in the development of our specialist services, supervision of junior staff and student education.
