Full Job Description

This post is for a Band 6 Physiotherapist at UHCW NHS Trust within the Surgical Therapy Team, working predominantly with SIF (Severe Intestinal Failure) patients and working closely with Gastroenterology patients The post holder will manage a caseload of patients with severe intestinal failure and / or complex needs, using evidence based and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a defined clinical setting. Alongside this, the post holder will work on the gastroenterology ward and support the wider surgical team. The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills, and ensure the development of staff and students through the use of supervision, training and appraisal. The post holder will participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical practice and service development. The post holder will provide ward based respiratory Physiotherapy to patients who may be acutely unwell.,

  • To manage a caseload of patients with varying diagnosis and / or complex needs, using evidence-based practice with client centred principles, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
  • To provide specialist knowledge of Physiotherapy assessment and treatment and how to apply this effectively within SIF patients and specialised area.
  • To provide ward based Respiratory Physiotherapy, including tracheostomies.
  • To support the learning and development of students and staff
  • To develop enhanced clinical skills and knowledge in an area of interest linked with patient cohorts (e.g. SIF specific clinical condition, prehabilitation / acute rehabilitation)
  • To participate in 7-day working patterns as required
  • To work within the Acute and Community settings as required
