Full Job Description

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, experienced radiographers to work in our small friendly DR department at Solihull Hospital. You will gain experience in all aspects of general radiography including urology, trauma & orthopaedic and day procedure theatres. The post-holder will be required to take responsibility for radiographic services in General X-ray and to maintain high clinical standards, particularly regarding patient care, clinical risk and Health and Safety. The role also includes CT rotation. There will be a requirement to participate in the out of hours rota after an appropriate period of induction. Successful candidates will provide a high-quality service to adults, children and young people always using best practice, promoting a positive patient experience embracing sensitivity to individual patient's needs. Solihull Hospital has recently welcomed the opening of a brand-new-state-of-the-art operating theatre hub. The hub is a 45m investment in the Solihull Hospital Site and is brilliant news for Solihull and Birmingham.,

  • To organise and prioritise the workload, and all aspects of imaging examinations as appropriate, taking into account the demands on the service and in consultation with their Line Manager when appropriate.
  • To liaise with other sections in the department to ensure safe staffing levels are maintained, adjusting the rotas with respect to staff when sickness etc. occurs. To organise the workload with respect to other sections where possible to most efficiently examine patients
  • Ensures compliance with departmental policies in modality area. To ensure that departmental protocols are followed.
  • To act as first point of contact when on-call
  • To carry out delegated management roles as requested by their Line Manager, for example overseeing the departments in the absence of their Line Manager.
  • To be aware of the demands of the whole service provision, and to lead in assisting other departments/wards to maintain patient throughput.
  • To record and report any incident to the Lead Radiographer and complete the appropriate documentation as soon as possible, and to ensure that any incident in a section is dealt with appropriately and immediately.
  • To act at all times with consideration for the safety and welfare of patients, visitors and staff, and to ensure that all staff in the section do the same.
  • To follow departmental and Trust policies and comment when policies are written or revised, or new developments are planned.
